Herbarium bermaksud :
1. koleksi spesimen tumbuh-tumbuhan yg dikeringkan yg disimpan dan diklasifikasikan secara sistematik;
2. tempat mengawet dan menyimpan spesimen tumbuh-tumbuhan tersebut.
Sunting Dayang - Sphonodesma pentandra
Saya tidak tahu sistem sebenar mengawet tumbuhan ini, cuma hanya ingat bagaimana saya ditugaskan untuk melakukannya ketika di bangku sekolah :
Periuk Kera - Nepenthes spp2. Catat tarikh ambil serta lokasinya.
3. Letakkan spesimen tersebut di dalam naskhah surat khabar dan ditindihkannya di bawah tikar, tilam, buku atau sebagainya.
4. Biarkannya di tindih begitu selama 2 minggu atau lebih supaya ianya benar-benar kering.
5. Letakkan spesimen di atas kertas dan ianya sudah siap untuk dikoleksikan. Sampulkannya di dalam plastik agar tidak mudah patah bila bergesel.

Paku sorok-sorok - Lycopodium spp
Kini kerja-kerja ini saya peturunkan buat anak-anak didik saya dalam projek kelas. Koleksi herbarium yang lama telah di tinggalkan di Bilik Sains sekolah lama.

Teringin pula nak mencuba, terutama dgn menggunakan si kemencup yg nakal di laman tu. Kalau beberapa hari di bawah tilam, tak ada ke penunggu kemencup ganggu mimpi kita? Nak tindih kemuncup di bawah tilam, kena juga beritahu Tok Umi. Nanti dia kata pulak kita nak pelemah hati dia utk tandatangani 'borang persetujuan'! Hehehe. Thanks so much, again.
